I see it somedays as if the Promised Land, but still full of Canaanites needing to be erradicated. Some days its like the Promised Land during the time of the Judges, where everything is doing what is right in its own eyes because there isn’t anyone doing kingly stuff. A rare few times it feels like the PL under David, where things are building towards something, things are being laid up for a brighter future. But it’s always the case that it is a land under the authority of the risen Christ, on which and through which all things are being reconcilled to him.
